Said goodbye to a client yesterday and I'm delighted.

My 3 mistakes from the experience:

1) Upon the first warning of rudeness, I should have binned him. I don't care about any client enough to accept this.

2) If conversion rates are poor and there are no major flaws, then it might be best to not take on such a client.

3) The team enjoying their work is more important than anything else.

He was on his second account manager. After the relationship with the first became hostile.

If performance isn't where it needs to be there are many ways to handle that. Abuse isn't one.

I fucked up though. I tried again with another account manager.

Who immediately hated working with the guy. Stating how rude he was from the first call.

When you've worked with your team for years and have seen most of their accounts resulting in success, you know they're not shit at what they do.

Advertising won't save an unremarkable product. What does unremarkable look like? Low conversion rates.

Despite us spending twice the time on this account, it simply wasn't working.
