Quick way to hire people that pay attention.
Put a basic request in the job description 👇
If they don't perform that simple request, such as, "write the number 3 as your answer" then it shows that they don't pay attention.
Is it a tripwire? Absolutely.
Will it remove high-quality candidates who could do a great job in the role? No doubt.
Do I care? No.
If you're applying for a job, you should read the description. Otherwise, you have no real interest in the job.
It's also a basic thing every company wants from their employees. For them to generally pay attention to the details.
Clients will also want that.
I've rejected 10 job applicants since posting the job a couple of hours ago. Every person put a number other than 3 when I asked "pick a number between 1 and 3".
