Assume your customer is an idiot.

Find something that they can easily/quickly understand 👇

I was looking for a desk mat recently, cus that’s what I’m about right now. Banging. Office. Setup.

Most companies don’t help you here. They give you dimensions.

Which are fine.

If your a joiner.

But I’m not. I’m an average George/Joe. So I can’t quickly and easily visualise dimensions.

What i can visualise is an A4 piece of paper. Or in this case, 3 of them. Side by side. I can visualise this because it’s an A4 piece of paper.

Basically most of my education.

So what’s the key takeaway here?

Make it as simple as possible for your customer to understand your product.

If you think you’ve done a good job, go ask them. Run a poll. Ask 10 prospects.

If you find yourself arguing “how obvious it is”, then you’ve failed. You need to go back and rethink.

I actually got a custom made one from a local leather guy. I had this nice little idea of me still having it in 20 years time. Knowing it was made by a local chap in Bondi Beach. 100% bespoke.
