Facebook groups are a complete waste of time for your brand

If you want to segregate, then communicate ๐Ÿ‘‡

I'm a huge believer in the power of building a community.

Facebook groups are brilliant for this. Customers/prospects already have an account, so it's truly seamless, plus they're automatically notified of new content.

Given they often visit Facebook for other stuff, those notifications lure them back to your community, which is great.

But I'll save the strengths for another post.

One of the challenges is the lack of segregation.

If you were to consider something like Slack, you could split customers up based on their purchases and/or interests. Then communicate accordingly.

Very similar to how email lists work, but your email subscribers never "see" each other. In a community they do. This is part of the charm.

For a haircare brand, you could have a channel for different hair types. Wavy, Curly, thick, thin, blonde, brown.

This would strengthen the connections within the community as those inside the wavy channel would resonate with each other much more than if they just saw a full array of content from members (e.g. seeing thick hair posts when you've got thin).

You can also create bespoke content accordingly. Targeting their specific problems.
