One customer used Estee Lauder as if it was mayonnaise.

Which sparked a packaging redesign.

Estee Lauder redesigned their original packaging after the labels came off the jars in the fridge.

The customer didn't realise and assume it was mayonnaise. So made a salad. The salad wasn't good.

It did, however, give them great insight into how their packaging should look and feel.

They worked hard on how their colours could work nicely with most bathroom cabinets.

The ocean blue was born.

They also sketched the label onto the jars, as opposed to a label.

Admittedly, it was a bit odd for the customer to have put a number of moisturisers in the fridge in the first place.

But the real lesson here is truly thinking about how your packaging sits in a persons life.
