I listened to a podcaster recently say it takes 8-hours of their time to produce a podcast.
I think this is rubbish, here's how it looks for me:
✅5 mins making an intro, inviting, and sending a Calendly link.
✅10 mins, usually right before we start, I perform a quick deep dive.
✅5-10 mins of interview foreplay.
✅25-35 mins of recording.
✅1 min sending a message to Slavi who cleans up audio issues, creates transcript, uploads to multiple platforms. I've got no idea why others don't have their own Slavi, it costs roughly $8/episode.
✅5 mins writing a quick bio and generating tags.
✅5 mins making a Canva pdf slide with key quotes.
Roughly 61 minutes all in.
I’ve hired another Amazon VA to go through every episode and extract 5-10 audio nuggets. That task will take a bit longer but I want to give people a flavour, allowing them to dip between podcasts when hunting for a topic.
