Is Amazon’s recent study on customers full of skewed data to make you spend more on Amazon Advertising?

Amazon have a new report out which studied why customers may switch brands. Apparently advertising has the greatest impact. Is there an argument that they’ve skewed the data to make this so?

Hear me out. I’m playing devils advocate.

But from experience I know that Amazon will skew data to make it look better. We often did it even when reporting internally, cus, KPI’s.

Wouldn’t it be logical to create a report that makes people think advertising is going to solve ALL their problems?

But maybe leave out some other pieces of the pie like how content impacts conversion rate?

Or how all those brands that won customers also had superior content?

I just don’t think it’s as straightforward as the figures you’ll see thrown around in LinkedIn posts or blog articles.

Always ask questions.

Ultimately if you’ve got shit content and a shit product, you’re advertising will fall flat on its face.
