I really struggled with motivation at the start of this year
I’d just spent 4 weeks drinking, eating, and occasionally exercising over Christmas.
But I just couldn’t get the wheels spinning again.
I largely feel this is down to me not knowing what direction I wanted to take the business in next.
I had 2 pathways that I could explore more.
I also then have this ongoing urge to build.
Whatever it may be, I just like building shit.
So it was quite tricky to get started when I didn’t know what to start on.
I was just moping around looking for answers.
Often going for 1-2 hour walks with a podcast on.
Is this a complete waste of time? A question I’d ask myself during these walks.
Or is it part of my “development”, becoming self aware and knowing when to just accept that you’re not fully firing.
But also knowing that if you see the course through you’ll come out the other end with a bit more clarity and perhaps a new wave of ideas.
This did ultimately happen.
I’ve got a clearer head and have ignited my passion again for something exciting and new.
It’s a strange journey being self-employed. Particularly when you don’t gobble up the bollocks about “hustle hustle hustle”.
I’m not trying to be the next 30 under 30.
