Here’s an idea for Amazon
A “shop local” filter...
In an increased effort to support small brands
Rather than just shove the lowest priced item down the throat of the customer
Enabling consumers to buy from the little businesses in their area would do a great deal in helping spread the wealth further
Best sellers and Amazon’s choice are great, and they should still exist
But I’d like to see something being done to focus on smaller brands, that don’t have huge margins or monster ad budgets to “win top of search
It also favours those customers who’s decisions aren’t solely based on price and delivery speed.
My parents, for instance, shop at the local butcher rather than the big chain. They want to put money in that butchers pocket and I’m sure they’re not alone.
Would anyone else like to see this?
