This made me chuckle, so much sh*t on LinkedIn, so let me try and give you some value today with a story of customer excellence
Had a great conversation yesterday with Jason Greenwood where he made an outstanding statement that brands today should consider
He learned it as a wee boy working as a waiter
And his boss used to say
Customers expect excellence, when they walk in they expect everything to be excellent. If you deliver it, they think nothing of it.
But if you mess up it they think it’s huge.
If you do something to create a brilliant experience on the back of that mess up, that customer can have an even better experience than if you’d just done the job flawlessly.
They’ll also likely tell lots of people about it.
Same token is if you rectify badly, they’ll tell lots of people and the experience will seem so bad.
This runs true today.
Next time you get a whiff of a bad customer experience, or one that isn’t flawless, see it as an opportunity to be outstanding and create your next fan.
Send them that gift card, that free X, give them access to the exclusive beta range. There are many ways to do this but it’ll be one more step in building your brand moat.
Episode coming on Tuesday.
