Amazon launches an FBA program that allows you to launch regionally instead of nationally.

The idea is that you can limit the upfront inventory needed while still offering the fastest delivery speeds by limiting the launch to a region versus the whole country.

While I think this is really interesting, I also think that the extra inventory needed to launch nationally in FBA isn’t that significant. So, is there real value here?

How much is a seller going to save / limit risk when the majority of NPD comes when running your manufacturing MOQ and is likely in quantities that are large enough for a national FBA launch anyway.

I think this is a thoughtful new program but will really only add value to the smallest sellers who also have extremely flexible manufacturing terms.
