AI doesn’t replace strategy. It amplifies it.
Last week at Advertising Week, I had the opportunity to speak alongside Donna Spurrier of Spurrier Group and Day Tomko of Nestlé Health Science on how brands can use AI to achieve relevance at scale.
We talked about what this moment really means for marketers:
Not automation for automation’s sake.
AI strips away bias. It shows us who our real customers are, not who we assume them to be.
On Amazon, that might look like discovering an audience segment you’d never think to build manually, “customers who viewed protein powder but bought a blender.”
And when it comes to creative?
AI finally removes the tradeoff between scale and intimacy.
We can now tell dozens of micro-stories - the parent making smoothies, the athlete recovering, the professional on the go - all from one product, all authentically.
My advice for brands starting out:
→ Start small.
→ Don’t chase shiny tools.
→ Use AI to cut friction, not to cut your story.
Speed matters. But authenticity is still what sticks.
Also a huge thank you to our moderator Jennyfer Goune for highlighting such a wonderful conversation.
