Is Uber Prime the Next Big Thing against Amazon? đź‘€
With Uber expanding its reach through Uber Direct, the company is now positioned to offer retailers of all sizes the opportunity to compete with Amazon by leveraging Uber’s delivery network. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi believes Uber can become the “default choice for the movement of people and things.”
Uber’s ambition? Local commerce. While Amazon focuses on global fulfillment, Uber is taking on rapid, local deliveries, perfect for getting essentials from neighborhood stores within hours (which is also the plan of Amazon with drones)
What does this mean for sellers? Retailers who rely on fast, local delivery could now have a powerful alternative to Amazon Prime. By partnering with Uber, they can deliver directly from their own websites, bypassing the need to list products on Amazon or dealing with daily fees or internal issues.
But will customers choose Uber over Amazon Prime, especially with Prime’s well-established free delivery perks?
That’s still up for debate. Uber must prove that the convenience of ultra-fast, local deliveries can stand against Amazon’s vast logistics network.
As Amazon continues to expand its same-day and next-day delivery, the battle for consumers’ loyalty just got more interesting.
But the real question is, what if you do FBM with Uber? Will it be faster than Prime?
