📦 Amazon has “clarified” the rules for the custom bundles.
Responding to seller feedback Amazon updated the Consumables Bundling Policy, because it was very radical from what they had before.
Here’s what you need to know:
• Manufacturer-Packaged Bundles Only: Only bundles pre-packaged by the original manufacturer or brand are allowed—no DIY repackaging.
• Repackaging with Permission: Want to repackage? You’ll need a Letter of Authorization from the brand owner, and all items must be from the same brand.
• Gift Basket Exception: Gift baskets can include multiple brands but must be packaged appropriately for gifting —I bet this will now be a huge category (resellers come back!)
đź’ˇ What Sellers Should Know
• Effective Immediately: All new consumables bundles must comply with this updated policy.
• For Existing Bundles: Enforcement begins on January 1, 2025.
• If the listing was created by the brand owner or an authorized seller, it should remain active.
• Unauthorized bundles or resellers combining different brands without permission are out.
A few things are still grey areas, but Amazon is trying to make it clear to ensure compliance and better protect brands and customers.
While it may feel like a setback, these changes aim to ensure product integrity and give brands more control over how their products are bought.
What’s your take? Does this clarification help, or are the changes still challenging your bundling strategies?👇
