So where is #Amazon's Temu-like discount store? Here's everything you need to know 👇
Earlier this year, Amazon made headlines after holding a private meeting in Shenzhen.
The aim of this meeting? Getting Chinese-based sellers excited to list their products on Amazon's new discount storefront.
The meeting was a direct response to rising competition from Temu & Shein. These rivals have gained significant traction. Not only in their home market. But also among European and American consumers.
But after the first rumours emerged, things went quiet around Amazon's Temu-like storefront.
Until now. The article below reveals that Amazon is working hard behind closed doors to get sellers onboarded.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀:
👉 Amazon rebranded the storefront "Low-Cost Store"
👉 The launch date is set for as early as November 2024
👉 Focus categories are fashion, apparel & accessories
👉 Amazon sets strict price caps between $7 and $9
👉 No returns are allowed for items under $3
But maybe the most interesting insight:
According to the documents in the article, Amazon intends to separate the browsing interface for shoppers. However, Amazon will keep a shared backend operation for sellers.
