🚨 Your Amazon Insert Card Sucks 📢
Yesterday, I told you that your hero images suck.
Today, I'm telling you that your insert card is really ugly and not effective at all.
💡 What's the purpose of an insert card?
For 99%, it will be to get more reviews. Some sellers do use their insert card for driving people to their social media channels, which by the way, is the ONLY exception for taking people away from Amazon. Follow the dang rules! unlike images, Amazon likes to take a big hammer at sellers who try to manipulate customers with their insert cards.
😎 What should I include?
2 big things matter when it comes to your insert card. Your brand story and a LOUD invitation to leave you a review on Amazon. No, not a five star review. Just a review. An organic, unbiased review. Don't try to play games here.
I've been working with a new client on this very thing and they decided to take the simple approach and mention a little bit about their brand, who they were, and VERY loud language asking the customer to leave them a review. Now, you have a couple of options here. You can use a QR code, text only, or a URL link. 99% will simply go to their app themselves and leave you a review so definitely don't stress out about the format.
So, what are some good examples? I've included two examples. One is a bit wordy and drives home their brand story and the second example is short and sweet. I'm biased and ALWAYS recommend short and sweet now because people's brains are mush thanks to TikTok... Your goal is not to drown them in the text but to get them to leave you a review.
☠What NOT to do:
1. Offer a discount code in exchange for a review.
2. Use if/then language in an attempt to get bad customer experiences to be resolved over email before a review can be left.
3. Including a QR code or URL that takes customers to your Shopify site.
4. Giving away Amazon gift cards in exchange for a 5-star review.
5. Read 1-4 and never forget them.
