Amazon FBA excels. But not for heavy products like this 50-pound item. Spreetail's FBM strategy outperforms FBA by optimizing costs and logistics, proving successful with over 10k units sold. FBA isn't always the best fit; FBM can be more effective in specific cases.

Amazon FBA is the best logistics program I've seen. But for this product, it simply wouldn't work.

The Amazon FBA fee would be $28.23 but it's currently selling for $32.99. How is this possible??

FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant).

CONTEXT:

Shipping heavy products gets really expensive with Amazon FBA. This product is 50 pounds! If you wanted to sell this profitably on Amazon, you'd have to charge at least $50. But if you have the right approach with FBM, as the seller of this product Spreetail does, you can get the unit economics to look much better. I've spoken with Spreetail, I know that they have multiple locations and specialize in bulky products.

You can't fake these numbers.

Selling 10k+ units of a 50 pound product tells me they're succeeding in a way that few can. It's possible only Spreetail can. I haven't seen anyone else that can do this type of FBM.

Amazon FBA isn't a one size fits all. I mean, it fits a lot of situations and can help small teams scale in amazing ways.

TAKEAWAYS:

As good as Amazon FBA is, you can beat it in some corner situations. FBM is winning for this heavy product. The other route could be 1P, but that's invite only and has its own drawbacks. Right here Spreetail is creating a winner.
