Amazon enforces strict title policies, blocking non-compliant listings. Titles over 200 characters, redundant keywords, and banned characters trigger errors. Sellers must prioritize audience-driven optimization over keyword stuffing to avoid penalties.

Amazon is cracking down on bad titles. Good thing your competitors still have theirs.

If you thought Amazon’s title policy update was just a warning, think again. Sellers are now getting hard errors when trying to update non-compliant listings.

🔴 New Amazon error encountered: 100470
⚠️ Error Message: Your title contains redundant information or violates the length requirement

Amazon is now fully enforcing the title restrictions rolled out in January, meaning you will have issues updating your listings if your titles do not comply.

✔️ Titles exceeding 200 characters will be blocked
✔️ Duplicate and excessive keywords will trigger errors
✔️ Banned special characters will stop updates
✔️ The AI Review Listing Updates system is enforcing changes automatically

And if you think for a second, it makes sense that Amazon is moving away from keyword stuffing and toward audience-driven optimization.

This is one of the most obvious changes that tells me that Amazon is changing ranking systems and how we build listings.

Keyword stuffing is officially against the policies and sellers need to embrace AI optimization practices (semantic SEO)

In other words, this policy shows us that we must start prioritizing intent, behavior, and relevance over keyword density. That way, we don't just keep our listings clean and consistent but also optimize the content for how our audience shop.

What stands out from all this change is the reality that Amazon is changing how products get discovered.

This change is intended not only to make content more digestible for customers but also to help IA better understand our products and match them with the customer's intent.

The question is, are you adjusting your strategy or waiting until your listings get flagged?
