🚨New FBA Reimbursement Policy Delayed🚨
Amazon just announced that they are delaying the update to how you are reimbursed for lost or damaged FBA inventory.
Historically, Amazon always reimbursed sellers for the sale price.
Now?
☠️ You will only get the sourcing cost. It's a crushing blow. And it's actually much worse than that. Amazon is only going to reimburse you for the sourcing cost excluding any shipping fees. This is your pure factory cost.
🧮 Some napkin math...
Let's say you sell your product on Amazon for $19.99 and your factory cost is $1.50. From now on, Amazon will only reimburse you $1.50 instead of $19.99. Are you crying yet?
The delay...
There was so much confusion and outrage that Amazon had no choice but to give you an extra couple of weeks to learn the new "Manage Your Sourcing Cost" system.
📅 You have until March 30, 2025 to submit your sourcing costs to Amazon or Amazon will do it for you and you don't want that! If your sourcing cost is $1.50, Amazon will gladly "guess" your sourcing cost at $0.99.
A word of warning...
If Amazon thinks you're playing games and entering five cents in their system when all your competitors submitted $7, they will overrule your submission and use their own estimate. AI is here and will be weaponized this way to force sellers to comply.
Get ahead of Amazon and make sure all your data is correct! Remember when Amazon says that they weren't raising fees in 2025? If you believed them, shame on you.
